PARIS, France (WIAT) — French President Francois Hollande and other government officials attended a memorial ceremony at Paris’ Bataclan concert hall to mark one year since deadly attacks in Paris claimed 130 lives.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, President Hollande and a host of family members of victims were on hand at the ceremony. A plaque was unveiled at the Bataclan in memory of the victims. Nearly 90 people were killed at the concert hall alone.
Attacks also took place at various restaurants and cafes in the area, plus the Stade de France during a friendly match between France and Germany on November 13th, 2015.
A balloon release is also planned to honor the victims. British musician Sting re-opened the Bataclan Saturday night during the first concert since the attacks.
