Attalla mother arrested for chemical endangerment of a child

ATTALLA, Ala. (WIAT) — An Attalla woman was arrested for chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin with the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.

“Ashley Michelle Patterson, 25, of Attalla, was arrested and is charged with chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.

The woman admitted to illegally smoking synthetic weed, also known as Spice, while pregnant, and tested positive for spice and opiates.

Patterson was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center with a $10,000 cash bond for the chemical endangerment warrant.
