UA students on high alert after armed robbery near campus

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.(WIAT) — UPDATE: Investigators say two employees were counting money when a man walked in. He was wearing a green jump suit and sunglasses walked in and pointed a gun at them.

We are told the man forced the employees into the restroom, then took off with their cell phones and cash from the register.

Police later found the clothing the man was wearing, the cell phones and the money near the railroad tracks.

ORIGINAL: Tuscaloosa Police are looking for the person who robbed a Dollar General store just off the University of Alabama’s campus around 9:30 p.m. at the store on 14th Street.

The suspect robbed the store at gun point. Police are asking students to be on high alert Monday morning.
