BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — On Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m., there will be a special honor for Birmingham native and former University of Alabama and NFL football player, Tony Nathan.
Nathan is known for breaking racial barriers at Woodlawn High School in the 1970’s. His story is now the focus of the movie “Woodlawn”, which was shot in Birmingham.
Several former NFL players will honor the guy they know as “Touchdown Tony” for his role in history. The ceremony will be held at Woodlawn High School.
