2 arrested in Jefferson County to Blount County police chase

ALABAMA (WIAT) — UPDATE: 31-year-old Mandy Elizabeth Vineyard of Pinson was taken into custody. She was found to have three outstanding felony warrants for probation violations on burglary charges.

Vineyard was transported to the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, where she is being held on the charges of Probation Violation Burglary in the Third Degree, Resisting Arrest, Attempting to Elude and Reckless Endangerment. She was given no bond.

The male passenger in the truck with Vineyard suffered minor injuries from the wreck and was taken to an area hospital. No one else was hurt during the chase.

ORIGINAL: Two people are in custody after a two county police chase. Jefferson County Sheriff deputies say the chase started as a traffic stop near Village Springs on Highway 75 and the driver refused to stop.

They then drove into Blount County and hit a patrol car. Deputies say the car wrecked on Tapawingo Road in the Pinson area.

As soon as we get more information from deputies about charges we will pass it along to you.
