DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Friday announced two separate drug arrests, including one where a toddler was present.
Sheriff Jimmy Harris says on Nov. 15, the drug and major crimes unit stopped a vehicle on Highway 75 in Ider. They searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine. A two-year-old child was in the vehicle with the suspect, 30-year-old Floyd Douglas Miles of Henagar. Miles is charged with unlawful posession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
DHR responded to the scene, and the child was relocated with family.
Another arrest was made on Nov. 17 after the sheriff’s office received an anonymous tip online about drug activity at Timber Ridge Apartments in Collinsville. 54-year-old Tammy Delores Jones was arrested for the second time in a week. She is charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of unlawful posession of a controlled substance.
