CENTER POINT, Ala. (WIAT)- Looking for something to do Thanksgiving week leading up to the Iron Bowl? Center Point High School is holding the first annual Heritage Classic Thanksgiving Tournament Tuesday-Thursday at the school.

Jefferson County coaches have been looking to do an event like this for a while. Twenty local teams will compete.

“A couple of local coaches got together,” Center Point coach Rodney Chapman said. “We tried to create an atmosphere of a tournament where the teams that don’t get a lot of high exposure get the opportunity to play in a high profile tournament where their teams can get exposure.”

The format is a double elimination bracket with games starting each day at 10:00 a.m.
