DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, they had been receiving tips about a man possibly selling drugs.
The DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit and Collinsville Police Department were going to do a check on James Cory McDow, 35, of Collinsville, on November 22 at his residence, when they saw him on the highway. They then stopped him in his driveway and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s K-9 did a search around McDow’s vehicle.
During the K-9 search, the Drug and Major Crimes Unit obtained a search warrant in order to search McDow’s home. During the home search, they found marijuana, methamphetamine and pills.
McDow was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana in the Second Degree, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and two count of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance.
