Hundreds of acres burning in Blount County


HAYDEN, Ala. (WIAT) — Firefighters are keeping a close eye on a brush fire in Hayden. The fire chief of the Mountain High Fire Department says at least 450 acres have burned.

At last check, the fire was only 20% contained. They also say no houses are in immediate danger.

Firefighters are working on fire breaks with bulldozers. Several fire agencies are working on this brush fire including Mountain High, Ricetown and West Blocton.
