Talladega County father asking for help solving son’s murder case

TALLADEGA, Ala. (WIAT) — Right now, Larry King is working to find out what led to his son’s murder on November 30, 2015 in the Alpine area.

Larry’s son, Stephen King, was found lying in a driveway with gunshot wounds, along with Stephen’s step-father, John Williams Lowe, Jr. It happened at Lowe’s home on Oakdale Road.

Lowe was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center and was pronounced dead at the hospital. King was pronounced dead at the scene. Right now, there are no leads in the case.

Larry spoke with CBS42 and says his son was the type of person who would do anything for anyone and was just a good person. He says Stephen enjoyed working and loved fishing.

Five years prior to his death, Stephen’s wife died due to an illness. Larry says that was very hard for his son, but he believes Stephen and his wife are in Heaven.

Larry says he’s coping with the tragedy through prayer and the love from friends and family. He says the hardest thing is not knowing what happened and he wants this case solved for Stephen’s sake.

A $5,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information should call the Talladega Sheriff at 256-761-2141.
