BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: The Birmingham City Council approved spending up to $1.5 million in financial incentives to bring Topgolf to the Magic City. Construction is expected to begin in the next couple months. Its expected to bring around 450 jobs to the Magic City.
ORIGINAL: The Birmingham City Council is expected to vote on a project that could bring Topgolf to the city.
The Economic Development, Budget and Finance Committee approved the project Monday. The project faces another hurdle in city council Tuesday.
If approved, Topgolf would be built on BJCC property between 11th and 12th Avenues and 24th and 26th Streets.
Officials say the project could bring nearly 450 jobs to the area.
