(WIAT) — UPDATE 6 am: Alabama Power reporting 4,200 outages statewide: 3,400 in western counties, 500 in eastern areas, 300 in Birmingham metro.
UPDATE 4:30 am: Alabama Power reporting less than 3,200 customers out statewide: 3,000 are in western counties, with less than 100 each in Birmingham metro and eastern areas.
UPDATE 3 am: Alabama Power is reporting that 3,500 customers are without power: 3,300 in western counties, 100 in Birmingham metro, and others scattered elsewhere.
UPDATE 2 am: Alabama Power is reporting 4400 out statewide. 3300 in west counties, 500 in Birmingham metro area, 500 in Montgomery area, and others scattered elsewhere.
About 4,600 customers are experiencing power outages statewide as of 10 p.m., according to a tweet from Alabama Power. Cullman Electric Co-op states that 4,055 of their members are out of power in 19 different outages.
Of those 4,600 experiencing outages, 3,500 are in the western counties of the state, which experienced the brunt of the storms’ impact. The remaining customers number 800 in the Birmingham metro area, and 350 in the Southeast of the state.
The CEC is reporting outages in the Helican and North Cullman areas.
