One in custody, more on the loose after Fairfield Pizza Hut robbery

FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) — Authorities are searching for one or two more perpetrators in a Fairfield robbery with one suspect in custody at this time, according to Nick Dyer, Fairfield Police Chief.

Dyer tells CBS42 News that Fairfield Police got a call of a robbery at the Pizza Hut before 6 p.m.

Authorities arrived on the scene and were able to detain a female suspect, who is believed by police to be the driver of the vehicle in the robbery.

Police are still looking for four suspects, last seen in black hoodies, who drove away in a tan Jeep Compass with a Jim Burke drive-out tag. Police chased the car eight miles to Arkadelphia Road, but weren’t able to catch it in time.

“We had a quick response, and we’re here to provide the best safety we can for the citizens,” Dyer said. “Our quick response, I believe, helped. It helped it from being a worse situation.”
