(WIAT) — More than two million dehumidifiers are being recalled after a report of 450 fires and $19 million in property damage. The manufacturer, Gree, says the recall affects dehumidifiers of various shapes, sizes and colors under 13 brands, including Frigidaire, GE and Kenmore.
The Consumer Products Safety Commission says the dehumidifiers can overheat, smoke and catch fire. The recall was first announced in 2013, but Gree says they are still getting several reports of fire damage.
The dehumidifiers sold for $110 to $400 from January 2005 until August 2013.
