CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WKRN) – An officer who was shot in Chattanooga on Thursday, and police say the suspect remains at large.
The shooting happened at Glenwood Drive and Mission Avenue near the CHI Memorial Hospital around 9:10 a.m.
The officer has since been treated and released.
Authorities say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who aids or abets the fugitive will be prosecuted by the full extent of the law.
He is described as a black man who is around 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with large lettering on it. Anyone who sees him should call 911.
At least seven schools in the area are on varying lockdowns while police search for the shooter.
