BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — ‘Tis the season for holiday lights! We found the largest synchronized light show in the world and it’s right here at home! Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland has five different light shows that rotate across five states in the Southeast. Birmingham is one of those five locations because it all started from a local businessman here.
Hundreds of hours and thousands of lights went into making this spectacular Christmas every night at the Birmingham Race Course. The show is located at 1000 John Rogers Dr, Birmingham, AL 35235, which is just South of Trussville.
Tickets are priced per car, not per person. Admission is $25, but if you go to any local Piggly Wiggly, you can purchase a ticket at the counter for $20 in advance!
Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland starts right after the sun goes down every night this month. Also, make sure you turn your radio station to 100.9 to listen to the music that is synchronized with the light show. It can take you up to 45 minutes to an hour to go through it all, but you are able to go at your own pace. Happy Holidays!
Don’t miss next week, Rachel is keeping it in the Christmas spirit with a trip to a special theater. That’s next Friday morning right here on CBS 42, Rachel on the Road!
