ALABAMA (WIAT) — 75 years ago today, 2,390 Americans lives were lost in the Pearl Harbor attacks. The event led the United States into entering World War II.
Right now, dozens of survivors of the attack along with other World War II veterans are in Hawaii for an historic week of events.
Wednesday in Fairfield, the American Legion Post 137 will hold a wreath laying ceremony at the Oakland Cemetery to commemorate the anniversary. It is scheduled for 11 a.m.
The city of Fultondale will have a remembrance ceremony. It starts at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning on Lowery Parkway of Walker Chapel Road.
