JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Jefferson County high school English teacher will appear before a judge the week after Christmas.
She was arrested on drug charges following a car accident last Saturday night. 28 year-old Leah M Sellers is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a charge of tampering with physical evidence.
Police say that the last charge came when she allegedly tried to get rid of evidence while sitting in the back of a patrol car.
According to the deposition, Sellers was involved in a wreck. The other driver reported seeing her laugh, then smoke something. The police officer reported he found multiple pipes and baggies of leafy green material, as well as one pipe still warm smelling of marijuana in the center console.
According to police records, she is employed at McAdory High School. Her court appearance is set for December 30th.
