BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — There’s only five days and seven hours and 22 minutes until Christmas.
Last week we asked the CBS42 Newsroom to share their favorite holiday songs and memories with our viewers. Now, are viewers are sharing with us! So we made a CBS42 Viewer Holiday Playlist on Spotify:
Here are some of the memories our viewers shared with us:
Here comes Santa Claus. When my nieces were small, I would pick them up and drive them to a special dinner. I would play the song and we would change the words. It was so much fun and to this day they remember those days. They are now in their 30’s.
My favorite song is one that I don’t know the name of the artist. I think it’s called, “I wonder as I wander.” I only hear it at Christmas and It’s the most beautiful song.
The First Noel. My sister Barbara taught me this song when I was 7. When I went to High School, we always sung it in the school choir. Memories!!!
Terry Jordan Hyde
Song: Oh Holy Night. Memory: received a blue bicycle and I assumed I wasn’t getting one.
My best friend, from third grade, and I sang “Winter Wonderland” as teens. Whenever I hear that song, I think of her.
“Silent Night ” Is my favorite song. When I was a child, we sang this by candlelight at our Christmas Eve Service and it made me want to be there and experience the birth of our Savior.
My favorite Christmas memory was in 1961 when I was 5 years old. We had a record player that played one record at a time. I believe this records that fit the player were called ” 78″ . Our biggest worry was breaking the needle on the player. Rudolph the red nosed reindeer was our hero. Merry Christmas and God bless you all.
Go tell it on the mountain. And favorite times is with my children and husband
