20-year-old struck, killed by train in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — According to the Tuscaloosa Fire Department, a 20-year-old female was struck and killed by a train behind apartments in the 1400 block of 10th Avenue. It happened around 11:50 p.m. Monday night.

According to Lieutenant Teena Richardson, a witness that was walking with the female victim stated that they were walking from a bar near the railroad tracks on the fringe of campus. The witness said that they were trying to beat the train.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Katie Keough from Baton Rouge. The scene was cleared and reopened around 5 a.m.
