Huntsville Space and Rocket Center

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — NASA completed work on a 221-foot twin tower stand in Huntsville. The massive structure will be used to test hardware for NASA’s new rocket.

It sits at Marshall Space Flight Center where engineers are installing equipment needed to test the largest fuel tank that’s part of the space launch system rocket.

The stand simulates the stress of flight by pushing, pulling and bending a test fuel tank.
