(WIAT) — U.S. Senate candidate Doug Jones picked up a big endorsement.

Congressman John Lewis put his support behind the Democratic candidate. He says he has seen Jones’ dedication to civil rights and social justice.

Jones is most known for his prosecution of those who bombed the 16th Street Baptist Church, killing four young girls.

Jones is one seven Democratic candidates running for the Senate seat.
