41-year-old homicide victim found shot to death in Ensley

ENSLEY, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham Police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday – their second in the same day.

According to Sgt. Shelton with the department, police responded to the 2900 block of Avenue Z on a call of a person shot. Officials found 41-year-old Jeffery Tubbs lying on his back on the curb. Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead on the scene.

Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting. Police say they are familiar with the victim. Tubbs had interactions with police recently where someone was charged with robbery.
